All tournaments are dealer dealt. You will find about 50-60 runners at the weekly tournaments and about 100 at their Main Events, normally taking place once a month. (Tournament details may change on short notice however - please contact the cardroom directly to confirm tournament details)
Cash games usually start when people start busting out of the tournaments, so anytime from 8pm onwards. You will regularly find £1-£2 NL Holdem games, and occasional £2-£4 NL Holdem games. On Sundays, they usually have a £5-£5 PL Omaha cash game running.
Equal Chance is a private member's club that has been around since 2005. When you get there you will feel right at home, as it has a very friendly, family environment. The atmosphere is relaxed, with many regulars coming, and lots of banter between players and dealers as well. The owners are very involved in the day-to-day running of the club and one of them even takes care of all the home-cooked meals served at the club!
This video's a bit old, but will give you an idea about the club is about:
It is not the easiest place to get to, but if you drive there's a car park opposite the club. Otherwise, it's right around the corner from St. James St Station.
You will find mostly regular players at Equal Chance. There are differing levels of players, but you will find the odd pro playing here like Willie Tann and Richard Wheatley. James Akenhead, on his way to the November Nine in the WSOP, has spent many nights playing poker at Equal Chance, and still plays there regularly.
Apart from their weekly tournament schedule, Equal Chance use to hold a Main Event every month, a £20,000 Guaranteed treble chance comp, but looks like that hasn't happened in a while.
Membership is free, although there is a 48 hour waiting period, before you can play. You can apply online in advance, just get in touch with them by email.
Food & Drink
You will find a nice variety of home-cooked food at Equal Chance. So it won't always be the same thing on the menu, hotdogs one day, Greek food another. Every Sunday, they make a Sunday roast for their members which is a nice touch.
Other games are also popular at the club like Kalooki, Chess, Backgammon, and snooker. You can also play online poker as well.

Mixture of very skillfull players and complete donks great atmosphere!!
the place we often dream of finding:fair buy- in tournies and good company round the tables. Not a club full of rocks, just people out to enjoy a game. Cash games are lively. The girls on the bar make a good plate of food up for you including toast and marmite. In summary "if carlsburg made poker clubs.........."
Really friendly place, lovely bar staff, owners and dealers. Good tourneys, nice food and likable people, cant go wrong.
